Meeting on the 19 of may, 2004
Meeting of the Section of local library studies took place on the 19th of may, 2004, in the State provincial scientific library of Novosibirsk. 73 persons participated.
Project of "Instruction on local library studies in municipal public libraries (centralized library systems)", developed by the Permanent committee (authors: N. M. Balackay, A. N. Maslova) was discussed and aproved. Decision was made to publish it in professional press, also to try to develop enclosure "Approximate division of duties between structural parts of centralized library system".
Experience of practical work of municipal libraries was elucidated in reports, made by I. V. Makarova (CLS of Berdsk city), N. A. Shcerbakova (CLS of Moshkovsk), G. I. Beliaeva (Interregional CLS, named after M. U. Lermontov, Saint-Petersburg), I. A. Gilfanova (PUSL of Sverdlovsk, named after V. G. Belinskii).
Great interest was arosed by new directions and ways of work: experience of usage of internet resources when creating reference book about traditions of philanthropy in Novonikolaevsk city (CLS of Berdsk), experience of cooperation between the Department of local studies of CLS with the Institute of archeology and ethnography of SD RAS, work with veterans of the Afganistan war and planning activity in the sphere of local studies (CLS of Moshkovsk).
Report, made by I. A. Gilfanova, was devoted to problem of giving sertificates to resources on local studies and creation of open system of master-classes.
Report, made by G. I. Beliaeva, was devoted to experience of work of the library-museum "Old Colomna".
In report, made by O. A. Tolokonceva, stage of local studies in libraries of Magadanskay province was analized. Problems, connected with the stage of electronic catalogues, were concerned as the main ones.
Report, made by O. A. Aldohina, was devoted to results of researches in the sphere of analysis of publicistic documents as means for improvement of informational products, connected with local studies, of the State university of culture and art of Kemerovo. Also of interest was report, made by L. A. Posadkova, devoted to preparation of publication of not published volumes of "Siberian soviet encyclopedia".
At the end of the meeting N. M. Balackay reported about results of Section's work in 2001-2004 and plans for the year. Among the aims are:
1. Development of national conception of local studies in Russian libraries.
2. Development of methods and organization of researches of resource support (personnel resources and technologies) of local library studies.
3. Creation of data bank of projects, connected with local studies, developed by Russian libraries.
4. Researches of possibilities of local studies in integrated servicing invalids in municipal libraries.
