Section of musical libraries traditionaly carried out two meetings on theme, offered by RLA: pre-session meeting on the 22 of march, 2004, in Moscow, and the second one - in Novosibirsk, on the IX Annual session of the Conference of RLA. 14 reports were made, 2 Round tables carried out. Meeting in Novosibirsk took place in the library of the State conservatory of Novosibirsk, named after M. I. Glinka, one of the leading conservatories of Russia. Section thanks the administration of the library for the heartly welcome .
Section' meeting aroused grear interest not only among musical socirty, but also among lecturers and students of the conservatory. Neither examinations, nor International competition of young violinists hindered it. The reason of that is interest in the offered theme and the desire to get during the lively talk as much information about following subjects, as possible: "Informational space of musical library", "Printed catalogues in modern musical library", "Electronic catalogue of music" etc.
Many aspects of technology and methods of work of musical libraries also were discussed. On the meeting of the Permanent committee report about the year's work of the Section was made, and the new plan was approved. The desicion was made to create Model standard of work of library of musical educational establishment.
