50 persons from 10 regions of Russia perticipated in Section's meetings.
9 reports were made, devoted to different aspects of research of library history - from theoretical questions (M. D. Astafev, M. Y. Dvorkina) to biographies of librarian of different libraries (I. G. Matveeva, N. V. Kulpanova).
The biggest interest was shown in report, made by director of State public historical library, M. D. Afanasev "Library and social context of library activity: historical review"
Report, made by director of Scientific library of Dalnevostocgnyi university (Vladivostok city) O. P. Elanceva, was devoted to history of creation of "Eastern library".
After all the reports were made the most interesting arrangements of the last year, connected with library history, were discussed. The most interesting was information about training in methods of historical researches and reconstructions of private libraries, which took place in Tula, in "Arhangelskoe" estate (Moscow province).
After the discussion the decision was made to organize in future trainings in library history in different regions of Russia.
