Membership and registration
1. "Regulations about "SEction of preservation and conservation"
General provisions
Section of oreservation and conservation is RLA's department, which support professional aspects of it's work in the sphere of safety of documents of all types. Секция по сохранности является структурным подразделением РБА, обеспечивающим профессиональные аспекты ее деятельности в области сохранности документов на всех типах носителей,
1.2. Main targets:
- Propagation of information about the state of safety of Russian documental heritage in the society;
- participation in development and realization of national program of safety;
- participation in programs of permanent educating for specialists, engaged in programs of safety;
- assistance in establishing libraries of preventive conservation;
- improvement of organization of scientific and research work in the sphere of safety, development of forward-looking themes for researches and projects;
- strengthening of collaboration between libraries and Russian and foreign organizations, educational institutes and professional associations.
1.3. Decision about establishing the section was made by RLA's council according to the suggestion of initiative group.
1.4. In it's work Section of RLA follows the Law of library activity, Charter of RLA, program documents of RLA, Regulations about the Section.
2. Composition
2.1. Individual members of RLA and representatives of collective members of RLA take part in Section's work;
2.2. Members of permanent committee are elected from hose of Section's members who are ready to participate in it permanently;
2.3. Committee is geaded by the head of the Section. From committee's members deputy head and secretary are elected;
3. Section's work
3.1. Section's work is planned in keeping with the targets, mentioned above, and based on the plan of activity for a year;
3.2. Plan of activity can include:
- organization of programs of permanent professional education;
- preparation of materials, which are to be published in special editions, also preparation of editions of different character;
- organization of development (with the following representation to RLA's Council) of normative documents, suggestions and recommendations to governing bodies, coordinative plans of scientific work, themes of researches and dissertations;
3.3. Section can collect connected with the question of safety of library funds, be engaged in bibliographical and consulting servicing, give recomendations about theoretical and practical questions;
3.4. Section can take part in work of methodical and coordinative organizations (councils, committees), established by ministries, departments, libraries and educational institytions, if the theme of their work is close to the Section's theme. Section takes part in work of other organizations as a representative of RLA.
4. Organization of Section's work
4.1. Section's work is organized by it's head according to the plan for a year.
4.2. Permanent committee's meetings take place at least once every year during All-Russian arrangements (conferences, meetings etc.)
4.3. Working groups can be established for developing particular questions.
4.4. Office work is made in the place where chairman and secretary work.
5. Information about Section's work
5.1. Chairman (or, on his instructions, secretary) permanently gives information about work of the Section and it's members in regions of RF to RLA's Council, sends to the Council projects of documents, copies of letters, programs of arrangements, invitations, booklets of editions etc.;
5.2. Information about Section's work is published in "Bulletin of RLA" and other editions;
5.3. Members of the Section inform collectives of libraries, educational institutions, other organizations in regions of RF about Section's work.
