You are cordially invited to attend the All-Russian Library Congress: 15th Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association, which will take place in Tomsk, May 16th – 21nd , 2010. It was announced “Library Capital of Russia 2010”.

The city of Tomsk is one of the most important scientific and cultural centers of the Siberia, administrative center of the Tomsk region, situated in the Asiatic part of Russia 3500 kilometers from Moscow in area of moderately continental climate. Temperature in May: + 8,4° Ñ (overage). The city of Tomsk, which in 2004 has celebrated its 400 years anniversary, is known for its high educational institutions, libraries, and historical buildings. It was here, that in 1888 the first university in Asiatic part of Russia was opened. In Tomsk there are the oldest in the Ural region botanic garden, art museum, local history museum, sport stadia, and library network.

The Congress is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation, by the Government of the Tomsk region.

Traditionally National Bibliographic Congress: Annual Conference of RLA is held on the All-Russia Library Day. In 2010 participants of the Congress will celebrate 180 anniversary of Pushkin Tomsk Regional Research Library. In 2010 also 15 years of foundation of RLA will be celebrated.

Motto of the Congress is “Library and knowledge: challenges of today society” Professional program of the Congress: 15th RLA Annual Conference includes the following subjects for presentation and discussion in the plenary sessions and the 40 sections, round tables and other events.

Plenary sessions will take place in the City Drama Theatre, meetings of sections of RLA will be held in the libraries and other cultural institutions of the city of Tomsk.

Dates of arrival: May 15-16 and departure: May 21-22, 2010.
Main Congress events: May 17-20, 2010.
Excursions: May 16 and May 21, 2010.
The working language of the Congress: Russian.

Online registration at the RLA Web-site: http://www.rba.ru by April 1, 2010. During the time of the Congress an Exhibition of the printed production and information technologies will be organized by RLA.

All Exhibition participants will have opportunity to make presentations of their companies and products during RLA section sessions and in the Exhibition booths. Time of each presentation should be about 5-7 minutes. Fee for a presentation 40 EUR. Each company may have 2 presentations, which will be included in the Congress program.

Deadline for Congress Papers
Papers and presentations should be sent to Organizing Committee before March 10th, 2010.

The Organizing Committee requests for original and practice oriented papers, not and correspond to subject of Congress and not published before.

Plenary and keynote papers – up to 20 minutes, in the sections and round tables meetings – up to 12- 15 minutes, the communications – up to 5-7 minutes, presentations– up to 5 minutes.
